Uganda’s Agriculture State Minister meets ASARECA Executive Director

KAMPALA: The Minister of State for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Fred Bwino Kyakulaga received ASARECA Executive Director, Dr. Enock Warinda at his Offices in the capital, Kampala.

Hon. Bwino and Dr. Warinda discussed a wide range of issues including sustainable Financing of ASARECA through implementation of a Ministerial joint Communique committing Member States to clear their Membership arrears and through brokerage of development partner funding for identified regional mega projects.

Uganda is the Host Country of the ASARECA Secretariat Headquarters. ASARECA expects support from the Government of Uganda to acquire land in the near future for the construction of its headquarters building.

As a Brand Ambassador for regionally coordinated Agricultural Research for Development, the Minister pledged unreserved support for ASARECA.
