Prof. Patience M. Mshenga

Prof. Patience Mshenga is serving the ASARECA Board of Directors as the Chairperson Finance Committee. She is currently the Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Egerton University, Kenya. Rising through the ranks over 25 years, Prof. Mushenga has experience in academics, agricultural research for development and community engagement. She holds a PhD in Agribusiness Management, an M.B.A, and Bachelor of Agribusiness Management degree. She has served Egerton University in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management at various positions including as Chairperson, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer. Prof. Mushenga has also worked under various development projects either as principle investigator or as collaborator. Some of the projects include: The Strengthening Agri-Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement Training in East, West, and North Africa project; and the Innovative Learning and Co-creation of Teaching Methodology for Scaling Entrepreneurship in Food and Agribusiness in Sub-Saharan Africa Project both financed by the European Commission. She also worked with the Problem-based-learning Bio-economy Entrepreneurship and Capacity Building Programme in Africa, financed by the Finnish Government; and the Empowering Kenyan Youth through Agri-enterprise Incubation for Improved Livelihoods and Economic Development, under RUFORUM among others.
