Dr. Tsegay Berhane
Director General of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI), the Republic of Eritrea
Since 2018 up to date, Dr. Tsegay Berhane has been the Director General of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI), the Republic of Eritrea. As the Director General of the national Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) apex body, he is mandated to provide leadership in AR4D under the Ministry of Agriculture to address national agricultural research priorities. Dr. Tsegay has a Master’s of Science Degree in Horticulture and a Diploma in Public Administration. Prior to this appointment, he worked as the Director of the Crop Improvement Division (2003 – 2016) in Eritrea. Overall, Dr. Berhane has served in AR4D for over 38 years.
