Dr. Dafalla Ahmed Dawoud
National Focal Person for ASARECA in Sudan
Dr. Dafalla Ahmed Dawoud, is the Deputy Director General for Research Programmes and International Cooperation, Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC), in Wad Medani, Sudan. Dr. Dafalla holds a PhD, an MSc, and a BSc in Agriculture. Before his elevation to this position, he worked at the Agricultural Research Corporation as a Research Assistant (documentation) (1983); Field Inspector and Agricultural Extension officer (1986-88); Research Scientist (since 1988); Head Weed Research Section (2003 -05); Director for Gezira Research Station (2014 – 19); National Coordinator Weed Research Programme (2018 – 20). He is a member of various committees including the committee for research projects and agricultural production planning, evaluation and management; and the national committees for pests and diseases, crop husbandry and variety release. He is also a lecturer, academic supervisor and examiner of many post graduate students. Dr. Dafalla has published articles in Journals, international and local symposia.
