Hon. Ir. Prosper Dodiko
Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock in Burundi
Hon. Ir. Prosper DODIKO is the Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock in Burundi. He holds a Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Burundi. During his professional career at the same Ministry, he completed several training courses, including, for example, training in soil sciences at Wageningen University (Netherlands).
With about 15 years’ experience in the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, Hon. Ir. Prosper DODIKO has held several strategic positions within this Ministry, namely the Directorate of Soil Fertilization which allowed him to initiate the National Fertilizer Subsidy Program, an initiative crowned with great success considering the increase in agricultural production recorded thanks to it; General Directorate of Environmental, Agricultural and Livestock Planning where he developed the Environmental, Agricultural and Livestock Policy Direction Document, a highly strategic document in Burundi that serves as a reference in the planning of agricultural programmes and projects ; Permanant Secretariat, a position he had just held about a year ago.
Hon. Ir. Prosper DODIKO is also involved in the management of VASO cooperative “Soil Valorization” which covers the entire national territory and whose members contribute a lot to the increase of agricultural production through the adoption of new agricultural innovations.
