ASARECA and sister sub-regional organisations have shared priority areas that were identified in their medium term plans (MTOPs) to inform the development of the African Agricultural Research Programme (AARP). AARP is mooted to develop new technologies, innovations and management practices. The African Development Bank (AfDB) recently requested FARA to take leadership in this designing this programme to complement the TAAT (Technologies for African Agriculture Transformation (TAAT) programme, which will be funded by the AfDB in 2017. The 24th ASARECA Board of Directors meeting will be held on 5th-6th December 2016. This particular BOD will discuss draft new ASARECA repositioning Strategy and Results Framework (A-SRF), which was developed to keep ASARECA ahead of times and to conform to the new and evolving institutional and policy reforms in the sub-region.
